IBH Link UA
The IBH Link UA is an OPC UA Server/Client module with integrated firewall for the SIMATIC S5, S7-200, S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, S7-1500 and LOGO! (Ethernet versions) PLC. It is a compact unit for DIN rail mount with four Ethernet ports and a 24V power supply.
The configuration of the IBH Link UA is made with the free IBH OPC UA Editor, the Original Siemens STEP7 or the TIA Portal. There is no need for other special software. Thus, the IBH Link UA can be seamlessly integrated into the PLC project. The IBH Link UA can handle up to 31 STEP7 and / or TIA projects simultaneously.
The definition of the variables will be transferred from the programming tool to the IBH Link UA via Ethernet. The attributes of the variables (f.i. write protection or limits) will be defined directly within the PLC project. This allows symbolic access to variables and data block structures.
The communication to the S5 and S7 PLC is established over Ethernet. If the PLC has no Ethernet port, our well known gateways IBH Link S7++ or IBH Link S5++ can be used. There are three Ethernet Ports for machine level on the IBH Link UA and one Ethernet Port for the supervision level. On the supervision level only OPC access is allowed. Between both levels there is a firewall integrated. The configuration of the Ethernet ports can be made using a standard web browser.
One of the advantages of the IBH Link UA from IBHsoftec is, that the IBH Link UA supports Client and Server functions simultaneously. This allows data exchange between different OPC UA Servers. For example control systems and other equipment with OPC UA servers from different manufacturers can exchange data with each other. The configuration of the client functions will be made using a standard web browser. .
User defined OPC UA variables: Data structures can be defined in a separate namespace and can be connected to any other OPC UA server via the client function. This means that other OPC UA clients can also read and write these data structures.
MQTT connection: User defined OPC UA variables can be exchanged with a MQTT broker/server.
The IBH Link UA can thus be used as a layer between machines and control systems (MES, ERP ...) independently of Simatic controllers.
While OPC Data Access allows the access to data in real time, supports OPC Historical Access, also called OPC HDA access, access to already stored data. From simple data logging systems to complex SCADA systems historical data can be queried on standardized manner. The activation of the Historical data is easily performed using the web browser.

IBH Link UA goes SINUMERIK
The IBH Link UA now supports the connection of the SINUMERIK 840D and 840D SL. Accessing the OPC UA module For the SINUMERIK, too, user-defined OPC UA variables can be exchanged with an MQTT broker / server and thus used for cloud solutions. Communication with the SINUMERIK takes place with the 840D SL via TCP / IP, with the 840D via our IBH Link S7 ++ The additional function for the SINUMERIK is also available for IBH Link UA modules that have already been commissioned and can easily be reloaded using a free update.
IBH Link UA goes Mitsubishi Electric
The IBH Link UA now supports the connection of the Mitsubishi Electric controllers of the FX5, L, QnA and IQ series. The Mitsubishi Electric controllers can access the same range of functions of the OPC UA module. The Mitsubishi Electric controllers can also be customized Exchange OPC UA variables with an MQTT broker / server and thus use them for cloud solutions. Communication with the controls takes place via TCP / IP. The additional function for the Mitsubishi Electric controls is also available for IBH Link UA modules that have already been commissioned and can easily be reloaded using a free update.
IBH Link UA goes Rockwell Automation
The IBH Link UA now supports the connection of the Rockwell controllers of the ControlLogix and CompactLogix series. The Rockwell Automation controllers can access the same functionality of the OPC UA module. Custom OPC UA variables can also be exchanged for the Rockwell Automation controllers with an MQTT broker / server and thus used for cloud solutions. A special feature of the Rockwell Automation controllers is that the variable tables can be used directly from the controller. No PLC project is required, which means an additional simplification. Communication with the controls takes place via TCP / IP.
IBH Link UA goes Modbus
The IBH Link UA now also supports the connection of Modbus participants. These can be controllers or any Modbus slaves, eg I / O slaves. EA slaves can also be addressed with the integrated S7 SoftPLC.
The configuration is done with our freely available IBH OPC UA Editor.
Siemens Iot2040 goes OPC UA
IBHsoftec with its SD card version of the OPC UA server now also supports the SIMATIC IOT2000 input / output modules 5xDI 2xAI 2xDO. The input / output modules can easily be activated via the web configurator and are addressed by the integrated S7 SoftPLC. This makes it possible to use the IOT2040 for MES systems, for example on old systems, without having to use an external PLC to collect the data.
IBH Link UA now certified by the OPC Foundation
The IBH Link UA has passed the compliance test of the OPC Foundation and has been certified
IBH Link UA now also available as a pure software version:
IBH Link UA now with S7 SoftPLC for data preprocessing
The IBH Link UA also contains a SoftPLC. The SoftPLC is able to read and write variables from the OPC UA server. The integrated SoftPLC is used for data preprocessing and is programmed with STEP7® in LAD, FBD, STL, SCL or S7-GRAPH.
